 All products are pot
grown, and through intensive development of our production methods over the
past few years, the nursery offers a year round production of Perennials, Hardy
Ferns,Ornamental Grasses and Bamboos.
The planning, usually 18 months
ahead of every season, ensures stability and availability of the total range
carried by the nursery. To ensure full hardiness, quality and shelf life of the
product, every product is grown outside throughout the year.
During the
late spring of 2000, and after a year's careful planning, phase 1 of our unique
outdoor 'ebb-flood' growing system was installed, which makes the nursery one
of the most advanced in the production of Perennials.
The 48 units are now fully computerised, and enable us to
produce plants to the highest standards of quality. All water, chemicals and
fertilisers are recycled and the nursery is fully integrated with the
environment. This completely closed system fulfils all future European laws and
requirements regarding the environment.
The improvement and expansion
of the nursery's internal transport and handling systems will further improve
efficiency: this will yield opportunities for additional investment in
automation. These measures will secure the nursery's production and long term
investments against the ever increasing difficulties in the labour
market.
